Winemaker Notes:
Close your eyes and let your imagination take you on a journey to the heart of Italy, where the rolling hills and golden sunsets create a warm and honeyed glow that fills the sky. The sweet scent of blooming flowers dances on the breeze, and the sun caresses your skin. It is here, in this enchanting landscape, that Emidio Pepe's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 1979 was born. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to the land, this wine is a masterpiece of simplicity. Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, no yeast or sugar is ever added, allowing the pure and natural flavors of the grapes to shine. The 1979 growing season in Abruzzo was a dream, with a warm and dry summer followed by a mild and moist autumn. This resulted in grapes that were ripe, healthy, and bursting with flavor, imparting a youthful vitality to the wine that still shines through today. As you sip, the wine's silky and elegant texture caresses your palate, leaving a persistent finish that lingers like a fond memory. The exceptional structure, high-quality tannins, and perfect balance between acidity and fruit are a true reflection of the land from which it was born. Each sip transports you back to the rolling hills and golden sunsets that first greeted your lips, evoking the magic and wonder of Italy where nature and man's artistry come together in perfect harmony. So take another sip, and let the 1979 Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo be your guide on a journey of the senses that you will never forget.
