Winemaker notes:

For over four decades, Domaine de Robert & Patrick Brunet has been weaving a legacy of viticultural excellence in Beaujolais, France. Anchored by the deep roots of patrimony and homage to his father Robert, Patrick's dedication to the art of winemaking honors the adage, “the vine grows in the shadow of the winemaker.” From the shale and blue stone of Côte du Py, esteemed as one of the crowning jewels of Beaujolais, to the verdant vineyards of Fleurie, the Domaine prides itself on sustainable farming practices, eschewing pesticides since 2000. With a blend of honest work, respect, and love for the craft, the Domaine produces wines that exquisitely express the distinctive terroir of the region.

The Morgon "Côte du Py" is a stunning testament to the rich heritage and the exceptional terroir of Beaujolais. Made from Gamay vines as old as 80 years, grown on the schist soils abundant with locally known "Pierres Bleues" or blue pebbles, this wine breathes the character of the land into every bottle. Manually harvested, de-stemmed, and aged for 10 months in stainless steel, this wine undergoes a cool maceration followed by fermentation to ensure a perfect balance of flavors.

On the palate, the wine hums with peppery spices, layered above a round, rich and darker palate — an echo of the shale and blue stone of the Côte du Py. With a southeast exposure at an elevation of 300 meters, the vineyard imparts a feminine grace and mineral tones to the lifted fruit. From its vine to your glass, this wine is a delightful dance between classic Gamay delicacy and uncommon depth, an ideal companion for those seeking the true taste of Beaujolais.
